How will the kitchen of the future be? There’s no better occasion than Fuorisalone 2016 to stimulate curiosity and go beyond imagination, to imagine and think about what the next evolutions will be. We live part of our day on social medias, directly connected to the world, totally immersed in the Internet of Things (IoT). Try to imagine how social dynamics will change our habits in the kitchen, choosing what to eat, which ingredients and how to prepare them.

The Invisible Kitchen

Even in a smart home, the heart of the house keeps being the kitchen, even if very different from the common idea we might have, but how? Something interesting as been proposed by Miele, with The Invisible Kitchen, a multisensorial installation presented in the Tortona area during this 2016 Design Week. The project, through the integration of present and future technologies, interprets with a visionary approach a true transformation of the culinary experience, starting from the place where you cook, ending with the processes of preparation and cooking of food. The structure is invisible, with transparent walls that indicate the absence of any border, the total connection with the rest of the world, the sharing of everything that happens and that could happen thanks to the intervention and collaboration of who participates to our culinary experience.

When we start cooking, we are the protagonists and our kitchen of the future will be able to transform thanks to technology and the intagration of app and devices to it, a social platform where you can share ideas, doubts, info on ingredients and recipes, with all the users in the web with the passion for food, from bloggers to big chefs, in a more immediate and simple way. When we will need an advice in the kitchen, there will be no need to call our moms or friends, but interaction will happen directly with electrical appliances connected to internet and able to give us all the info we need in that moment.
The true revolution in the kitchen will be possible thanks to technologies, but it will find its true strength in a different approach, more and more collaborative and inclined to a shared knowledge, producing every second a new and creative idea. Other than this, what could make our kitchen more social?
